Japan defeated China to win the 8th Youth Girl’s Volleyball Championships in Kuala Lumpur. Japan trounced China by 3 straight games to win the title while Thailand defeated Korea for the 3rd place. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 28/05/2010

This championship will also serve as the qualification tournament of the 1st Youth Olympic Games in Singapore and the 2011 World Youth Girl’s Championship where the Top winner will representing the Asian Volleyball Confederation.

About 5,500 dancers performing the traditional dance and folk song during the cultural show of the Color of 1Malaysia at Independence Square in Kuala Lumpur.

The traditional dance and song that are shown during this event are from various enthnics in Malaysia. The peak of the event are Dikir Barat, the local Kelantanese traditional song and dance that was performs by 5,500 dancers. This Dikir Barat are to be set in the Malaysia Book of Record as the biggest Dikir Barat ever perform in Malaysia.

The three hours colorful cultural event was perform by secondary school children from local school and dancers from art and cultural institute in Kuala Lumpur. Color of 1Malaysia is yearly program conducted by Malaysia’s Ministry of Cultural, Art and Tourism as one a tourist attraction.

Malaysia’s Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak officiated the 6th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) opening ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Along with Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, there was King of Brunei Darussalam Sultan Hasanal Bolkiah, President of the Republic of Senegal Abdoulaye Wade, President of the Republic of Indonesia Dr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, President of the Republic of Kosovo Dr Fathir Sejdiu, President of the Republic of Maldives Mohamed Nasheed and Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina.

The theme of the 6th WIEF was “Gearing for Economic Resurgence” and is held in Kuala Lumpur from the19th to 20th May 2010.
