Base Jump 2011

A base jumper leaps from the 380 metres high Kuala Lumpur Tower in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Friday, 30 September 2011. Some 93 international base jumpers from 23 countries took part in the annual KL Tower International Jump. BASE (Building, Antenna, Span and Earth)-jumping is an extreme sport where parachutists jump off tall buildings and structures instead of aircraft.

They are among the first batch of 450 Malaysian Haj pilgrims that will leave for the Holy Land of Mecca in Saudi Arabia tonight. About 28,000 Malaysians are expected to perform the pilgrimage during this year’s Haj season along with 3 million Muslims from other parts of the world. Haj is the fifth pillar of Islam and every Muslim is required to perform it at least once a lifetime if they can afford to do so.

Eid Al-Fitr 2011

Lemang is a traditional Malay food made of glutinous rice and coconut milk and cooked in a hollowed bamboo stick. This dish is popularly served during the Eid al-Fitr celebration. Muslims worldwide celebrate Eid al-Fitr, to mark the end of Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar.
