Satriwitthaya 2 Marching Band of Thailand came out as overall winner in Open category at Kuala Lumpur World Marching Band Competition 2009 in Kuala Lummpur, December 19, 2009. Satriwitthaya 2 perform a dramatic show and fast energetic music to beat another 7 finalist including 2 teams from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia and Singapore.

1st Runner Up win by Chonkanyanukoon School Marching Band also from Thailand while 2nd Runner Up is from Sultanah Asma School Marching Band of Malaysia.

About 20 marching bands from North America, Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific and the Far East to take part in this competition. The KLWMBC is part of an international circuit of marching band competitions sanctioned by the World Association of Marching Show Bands (WAMSB).
