Lemang is a traditional Malay food made of glutinous rice and coconut milk and cooked in a hollowed bamboo stick. This dish is popularly served during the Eid al-Fitr celebration. Muslims worldwide celebrate Eid al-Fitr, to mark the end of Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar.

Malaysian rush out to their home town for Eid Al-Fitr holidays at Kuala Lumpur Sentral in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 26 August 2011. Malaysian will celebrate the Eid Fitr on the 30th and will follow by the Independence Day which falls on the 31 August.

Malaysian Muslim today celebrate Eid al-Adha, the Muslim ” “Festival of Sacrifice” in village of Gombak.  17/11/2010.   Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha by slaughtering camels, sheep, goats and cows to commemorate God’s gift of a ram to substitute for Abraham’s son, distributing the meat amongst family, friends and the poor.

Thousands of Malaysian Muslim celebrate a Maulidul Rasul, a Prophet Muhammad Birthday’s in Putrajaya, February 26, 2010.  Muslims all over the world celebrate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad today according to the Islamic calendar.
